File format matters, but it is only one part of preparing artwork for a wall printer.

A JPG can still print badly if it is too small. A TIFF can still produce the wrong colors if the RIP settings are incorrect.

Before printing, focus on four things: size, resolution, proportions, and color workflow.

Check the actual wall dimensions

Start with the final print area.

Confirm:

  • wall width;

  • wall height;

  • artwork width;

  • artwork height;

  • intended print position.

The artwork aspect ratio should match the area you want to print.

For example, if your image is very wide but the available wall area is nearly square, simply stretching the image will distort people, logos, or objects.

What Should You Do If the Wall Printer Cannot Open or Print the File?

Most file-related problems can be solved without redesigning the entire image.

The file will not open in the RIP

Try exporting another copy as:
